Quebec researchers are read all over the planet and have the distinction of ranking first worldwide for the average number of citations their publications receive.
A cornerstone of the Pan-Canadian AI Strategy, the CIFAR AI Chairs program attracts and retains world-class AI researchers. Almost half of the chairs are based in Quebec.
The governments of Quebec and Canada actively support fundamental and applied research. Between 2017 and 2021 alone, Quebec research centres received more than $400 million in funding for their activities.
