Over the past few years, Quebec has succeeded in attracting international leaders in artificial intelligence. Now Quebec companies are out conquering the world.
Despite its smaller size, Quebec ranks 7th globally, ahead of Israel, France, the Netherlands and Singapore in terms of level of investment, innovation and implementation of artificial intelligence.
Quebec holds significant influence in several international forums that decide the future of artificial intelligence. Our researchers and experts participate in AI discussions all over the world.
MILA and Algora Lab led the deliberative component of UNESCO’s global consultation on the recommendation on AI ethics, which was adopted by UNESCO’s 193 member states.
Building on the expertise of the International Observatory on the Societal Impacts of AI and Digital Technology (OBVIA), Université Laval and the OECD are committed to jointly promoting cooperation and advancing knowledge on the societal impacts of AI.
Quebec is home to one of the two GPAI Centres of Expertise, the International Centre of Expertise in Montreal on AI (CEIMIA), dedicated to bridging the gap between theory and practice.
